The type of leather of your saddle can change the appearance a lot. The type of saddle you purchase is made of certain types of leather as a default. It is possible to have the saddle flap, the seat and/or the knee roll in a different type of leather than the standard. All leathers are tanned and treated in such a way that they immediately feel supple.
“Plain” leather is the leather that many of our saddles are made of as a default. It is a strong, thick cowhide leather with a smooth structure that gives a luxurious, elegant look to the saddles. Saddles that are not in this type of leather by default, can also be made in plain leather.
Buffalo leather is a strong, thick type of leather with a light structure. Various models are standard equipped with a flap and a saddle skirt in buffalo leather, saddles that do not have this can be provided with a buffalo leather flap and saddle skirt. Surcharge €200,-
Bison leather is cow leather with a coarse texture that has a robust appearance and gives a little more grip. Bison leather can be applied to the saddle flap and the saddle skirt. Surcharge €200.
Nubuck leather is leather that has been slightly roughened, giving it a velvety appearance that provides a lot of grip. The look resembles suede, but is stronger and thicker than suede. Nubuck can be applied to the seat. Surcharge €250.
Calfskin is very soft and is characterized by an extra fine structure. It can be applied to the seat. Surcharge €175.
We use this type of leather by default for the seat and the knee rolls. It is a very flexible type of leather that is therefore very suitable for these applications.
Mellow leather is cow leather which has a pattern with small dots and gives your saddle a special look. It can be applied to the saddle flap and saddle skirt. Various models are equipped with mellow leather by default.
Have your complete saddle made in a color other than black? That is also possible, for example you can choose from various brown tones as you can see in the image. Surcharge €75.
