The influence of the saddle tree
At Fryso we prefer to measure saddles with a complete saddle when you have a new saddle measured for your horse. This way we can be sure that the final saddle fits your horse and the rider. We can do this because we always have a large stock of at least 30 saddles, where other saddle fitters often only have a few saddles available and therefore often have to fit the tree.
However, we believe it is important that all our saddle fitters know how our saddles are constructed and which type of saddle suits which type of horse. Hence today's research!
After viewing and measuring the trees and discussing experiences with the saddle types, it is time to put this into practice. We fit different trees on two horses and compare them with the saddles that contain this tree.
Ultimately, it turns out that the final fit of the saddle does not always correspond to what you would expect with a particular tree. The structure of the saddle also has a huge influence! A nice confirmation of our way of measuring with complete saddles.
Our team riders are also in good shape again
In addition, our team riders have: Helen, Marsja, Esther, Sofi and Harmina also had their annual saddle check, and they are once again assured that their saddle does not hinder (and possibly help) them to achieve the maximum with their horse.
