At Fryso and Tweespan Exclusive Ruitersport we strive for the highest level of saddle fitting service and advice. As a proud developer of Fryso Saddles and a member of the Association of Saddle and Harness Experts (VZTD), we combine craftsmanship with extensive knowledge of horse and rider. Our specialization enables us to deliver work that promotes the well-being of the horse and enables optimal performance of your horse.
The profession of saddle fitter is free in the Netherlands, which means that anyone can call themselves that. However, the VZTD sets strict requirements for its members:
There are different stories about every saddle fitter, depending on what experiences someone or their acquaintances have had. We will not deny that. Membership of the VZTD is really a good starting point to know whether you are dealing with someone who is independent and has adequate training.
We apply the same principles during both a saddle check and a fitting session for a new saddle, whereby we take a complete picture of the horse and rider combination into account in our working method.
We fit complete saddles, not just saddle trees. Although the tree is very important for the fit of the saddle, the effect of the cushions on the fit cannot be underestimated.
We assess the horse not only when standing still, but also when moving. That is why we always ride several times to get a good picture of the situation, the position of different saddles or the adjustments during a check.
We look not only at the horse, but also at the rider. One person is not the other, in addition, the saddle has more influence on the posture than people sometimes think in advance.
Since I ride many different types of horses, including KWPN, Fries, Barock Pinto, Oldenburger and harness horses, I was looking for a saddle that suited me but also my horses.
