The Fryso team never stops learning.

Once a year, the Fryso team gets together for our annual “fill-up day,” as we call it internally. On this day, our team and our sponsored riders come together for an enjoyable day full of knowledge sharing.

Afterwards, our team riders are assured that their saddles fit properly again, and our saddle fitters can brainstorm and experiment with padding saddles together. The riders also have fun photos and videos for their social media featuring our products. A win-win!

Would you like to know more about our saddles or schedule a service appointment?

What is the effect on the fit if just a tiny bit of padding is added, or what does the rider feel when we raise the saddle just a little more at the front? The feedback from our riders is very important in this regard, and the results are sometimes surprising. If a rider indicates a specific problem with their seat or fit, in what ways can you look for a solution? Does padding need to be added somewhere, or removed? When is a pad a better solution than adjusting the padding? Various girths are also being tested on one of the horses.

We share tips with each other on how to make an assessment more quickly, and we also learn from one another how to deal with different riders during our work. After all, we don't just work with horses, but with horse people. And as fellow horse people, we naturally know that everyone has their own perspective on everything. When do you incorporate riding technique, and in which cases do you limit yourself to the position of the saddle?

Jumping saddle in the spotlight

The vast majority of Fryso saddles are dressage saddles. However, we also have a jumping and eventing saddle in our range, and naturally, our saddle fitters encounter them frequently during padding. Therefore, in this edition, we are paying a little more attention to the jumping saddle.

Team rider Esther is just as active in show jumping as in dressage and brought one of her show jumping horses and her Fryso jumping saddle along to have it padded. For another horse, we compared two different used Fryso jumping saddles to see which model fits best and how it needs to be padded to achieve the best fit for both rider and horse.

Lora Burger

A suitable saddle is very important. On advice we bought a new Fryso saddle. Our horse immediately started to finish her movements better. I would recommend both the filling service and the fitting service for a new saddle, they are real professionals, come from the sport themselves and see very well what the horse and rider needs.
