The competition

Nineteen harness and 39 dressage combinations qualified for the semi-finals during the qualifying competitions, after which the top three horses in each section were allowed to show their best side during the finals at the central inspection.

During this final, the selected dressage horses will be ridden by guest riders Nicky Snijder and Marjan Hooge to ensure the horses are assessed as fairly as possible on their rideability, response to aids, concentration, and ability to transition. These scores count for 40%, while the points from the semi-finals under the riders themselves count for 60%.
